ÐÔÊÓ½ç

It´s been a long time since last social commitment was as discussed as it is today. Solidarity and empathy are daily practice - and that´s wonderful. In ÐÔÊÓ½ç we know how to care for each other, anyway. We would say: this is the heart of the city, even though you can´t always see it.

Let´s take , for example. As former part of the ÐÔÊÓ½ç Wall this was one of the scariest spots in ÐÔÊÓ½ç. But today it is a place for art and colours. We don´t even have to look at the famous brotherly kiss between Brezhnev and Honecker to find the connective and conciliatory here.

Of course ÐÔÊÓ½ç´s social side does not only include symbols. The °­Ã¤±ô³Ù±ð²ú³Ü²õ (eng.: bus against the cold) has been touring through the city since 1994 in winter nights in search of homeless people, who don´t have the strength to find shelter in cold nights anymore. The bus takes those who want to to emergency shelters, where they can spend a warm night. Hats off to the team.

The offer of might be of equal importance for many living on the streets. Several social workers offer a ride on this colourful bus to all with limited mobility or even sitting in a wheelchair, whenever they need to get somewhere. An amazing idea, isn´t it?

We´re sure that these young activists also liked the call for collecting garbage just around our corner, at Kottbusser Tor. We have to admit: there´s enough for everybody. So, put on your gloves and off we go!

, though is a website that fosters the network of the creative industry and thereby supports another important part of the city. This plattform collects information about current topics, jobs and workshops for architects as well as dancers (German: Tanz = English: dance), film studios as well as publishing houses. A contribution that should not be underestimated.

The longer we look, the more we find! We could go on about ÐÔÊÓ½ç´s soul for ages. But we need to drop in at today, and it always takes us some time to ( makes the decision quite hard, don´t you think?). So we leave the rest of the research to you.
