Welcome to 2022!
May it bring everything you wish for.
But now, before we start our very first tour through ÐÔÊÓ½ç this year, a huge THANK YOU! Thank you for all the e-mails you sent our author for the lottery of last year. With your help we managed to get back our ÐÔÊÓ½ç memory. For all those who have not won the dinner for two at we have a little secret we would like to share - psst: we have so many fabulous X-Berg Ducks that we even sell them! Just and come over.
And now: off to the big wide ÐÔÊÓ½ç world!
The view of the huge dinosaur skeletons at (eng.: museum of natural history) is known to many in Germany and beyond, even if they have never been there before. But what else the city has to offer to those with an interest in science and a hunger for knowledge - and it has been some time since last science was as relevant for each and every one of us as today - is what we want to explore now.
Did you know that ÐÔÊÓ½ç has four universities and around fourty private and public colleges? These add to more than seventy non-university scientific institutions and the world famous university hospital with four campuses hosting students from all over the world.
For those of you, who would like to return to the dinosaurs now: the Museum für Naturkunde also offers a wide range of , from podcasts to instagram livestreams and youtube videos.
The first picture, a so called “raisin bomber“ (going back to the time of the Soviet ÐÔÊÓ½ç Blockade of 1948/49 and the supplements brought to West ÐÔÊÓ½ç by airplanes of Western Allies) above the (eng.: German Museum for Technology) is also a wellknown view to most of ÐÔÊÓ½ç´s inhabitants. By the way: it is just around the corner of . Taking a look at its exhibition is a nice idea for a cool January afternoon and a must-do for all with an interest in aviation, ships and trains and technological progress in general. No worries - even though at the entrance you will be asked for several documents as nearly everywhere these days, no engineering qualifications are needed to have a good time (© Photos: SDTB / H. Hattendorf).
If this still seems a bit too theoretical to you, just visit . This “world of experiments“ is also part of the museum for technology and invites the young and the old to look and touch all parts of the exhibition. Interactive learning at its best (© Photo: SDTB / C. Kirchner).
Mark the date of 1st to 10th of November! The was already a full success last year, when it was held as hybrid event with over 200 programme points and more than 20,000 visitors online and on-site. And we know for you during this time… (tip: check out our for the beginning of November. Flexible cancellation policy, Breakfast Club included and a nice discount of 20%)
Talking about future plans: have you ever been to ? Located directly at the river Spree, a futuristic building - what else? - offers exhibitions as well as a space to try out and discuss your own ideas. And it is all about the future that is possible, we wish for or things we need to change - come and see for yourself! (© Photo: Jan Windszus)
Do we sense a question mark in your estimated facial expressions? Yes, you might be right. This picture probably has nothing to do with science. But should you meet German singer Herbert Grönemeyer in the next time, please tell him that “Roy has his next hit“ (whoever Roy may be). The district of Schöneberg yearns for different posters already!
That´s it for today. We take our bows and say goodbye. Please remember to keep supporting our scientific work - you know, studies with topics as “breaking other peoples´ diets“ or “most popular pillows“. ÐÔÊÓ½ç´s science scene needs you .
