Welcome to ÐÔÊÓ½ç #27

Warning! This newsletter should not be read by people suffering from tinsel tiredness, glitter allergy or anti christmas decoration sickness. And even though your opinion on our mailing is usually highly estimated, dear Grinch, you have to keep out today, too. Sorry.

So, you are still here? Splendid! Then let´s begin our tour through ÐÔÊÓ½ç´s christmas wonderland…

We start our journey on the on square Breitscheidplatz next to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church we have already visited earlier. As every year many different people of all origin and belief celebrate advent here. This year the walkways and spaces between the stalls are extra large, so noone has to feel cramped.

If you have found your way to famous Ku´damm anyway, you mustn´t miss the christmas decoration alongside the whole avenue. And good old mall did not spare any expense on its festive look, neither.

Not only roasted almonds and German Bratwurst seduce visitors at the but also a merry-go-round and a ferris wheel - especially popular among kids, needless to say. And don´t forget the 600 m² large ice rink with skate rental, in case you did not bring yours to the city today. We really have earned our next mulled wine (German: ³Ò±ôü³ó·É±ð¾±²Ô - very important word!).

As we are in the area already, we also take a look at Europe´s largest christmas pyramid from the Ore Mountains on

We and our stomachs take a small break and just enjoy the spectacular lights at (©photo: Weihnachten im Tierpark).

No time to get tired yet! will not take place in the old town this year, but in the historic (by the way: the citadel contains the oldest building in ÐÔÊÓ½ç, the Julius Tower from the 13th century). This decision was made because of Covid restrictions, but the result is just marvelous. A fairytale-like atmosphere is combined with classic christmas market stalls. And those who have never visited the fortress yet can perfectly combine this with another cup of hot ³Ò±ôü³ó·É±ð¾±²Ô (© Photo: Spandauer Weihnachtsmarkt).

Back in the city centre all rainbow lovers can celebrate a very joyful christmas at . At famous square Nollendorfplatz - where else? - we celebrate this special time amongst drag queens and members of the LGBTIQ* community. The best part of it: there´s and music every single night!

Before having the next chimney bread or Bratwurst we get to do some workout at the . We have the choice between ice skating, ·¡¾±²õ²õ³Ù´Ç³¦°ì²õ³¦³ó¾±±ðß±ð²Ô, a German version of curling, and sledging. But of course we do not have to look for the next possibility to gain back the calories we just lost for very long. This market focusses on Austrian specialities - what a delightful culinary seduction.

We have now arrived at the absolute favourite christmas market of many ÐÔÊÓ½ç christmas lovers. So many, that the market needs to regulate the entry by selling tickets (for the small amount of 1 symbolic Euro). is not only as romantic as it is because of the beautiful decoration of the tents, but also because of the spectacular setting located between French and German Dome as well as the ÐÔÊÓ½ç Concert House. Even if you might have to queue up before entering - it´s definitely worth it, believe us.

Wow, what a day! We are quite exhausted, quite drunk and very happy now. There are no beds we would rather climb in now than in . But, wait a minute - perform tonight…maybe we will just have one very last drink at the . We promise!
