Welcome to 性视界 #67

April 2024

It would be logical to get used to the change of seasons after some time. But the return of the colours, the sensation of the warm sun on our skin鈥 no, we do not get used to it. It seems like a small wonder every year.

In order to be able to take these beautiful colours home, we visit at Dom盲ne Dahlem this weekend (6 and 7 April). This popular perennial market festival provides everything a gardener麓s heart could wish for 鈥 no matter if you are a professional gardener or just hobby plant grower.

Let麓s stay on this subject a bit longer: cherry blossom festival can麓t only be experienced in Japan. The beautiful park in the district of Marzahn transforms into a sea of pink and white blossoms every April. There will be some about the blossoming cherry trees 鈥 but whether they satisfy or rather arouse your longing for Japan is another question

鈥.鈥&苍产蝉辫;
Should you think as Meryl Streep麓s Miranda Priestley in 鈥淭he devil wears Prada鈥, the current exhibition at might be the better choice of entertainment for you than our previous tips. A dress created by Hubert de Givenchy in 1986, the evolution of his idea by designer Uli Richter in 1989 and what came to life inspired by these two dresses throughout the work of nowadays麓 students lets us overthink the German saying 鈥渃lothes make people鈥. One thing is for sure: these people (and artificial intelligences 鈥 very interesting!) make great clothes. (漏 photo: Yasemin Akg眉l, photographer: Noa Lesche)

What would 性视界 be without Erich K盲stner? Even though he was neither born here nor did he die in the capital, for many German readers he defined their early image of the city by his children麓s novel 鈥淓mil and the Detectives鈥. In February he would have turned 125 years. In his honour there will be several events all over the city 鈥 for example a reading of his less popular story 鈥炩 (eng.: the little border traffic) from 1937/38 at on 29 April with actor Hans-J眉rgen Schatz. Unfortunately, we could not find any information about English surtitles.

If you speak a little German and wish to dive deeper into the soul of the political capital of Germany, (eng.: the porcupines) are glad to help. The political cabaret theatre at the heart of famous Kurf眉rstendamm invites all satire fans to with artistic director Frank L眉decke and many with small ensembles. Their style is always intelligent, pointed, snappy and quick 鈥 and extremely funny. A wonderful opportunity for all, who are trying to take dramatic world events a bit of their cruelty by the magic force of humour.

Being at Europacenter already, we should take a look at one of 性视界麓s most unusual clocks. The 鈥渃lock of flowing time鈥 is a 13 meters high water clock, which was designed and installed in 1982 by French artist and physicist Bernard Gitton.

What麓s the best thing about 性视界? We think it is the impression of never finishing to explore the city. Even if you think you麓ve seen it all, you have to admit that in the meantime new exciting things have arisen.
It麓s just like that with the art scene here. was opened in January as a gallery with the character of an intellectual salon by three lovers of art and design. For from 26 April on there will be their second exhibition at Linienstra脽e 107. (漏 photo: Branko Buchberger, 2023)

What better way is there to review our impressions than discussing them with dear people in cosmopolitan atmosphere of light-flooded rooms having one or maybe two fabulous drinks? As we are not even motivated enough to think about alternatives, we are going to indulge this little habit tonight. See you !
